Proverbs 1:6

I will turn my ear to a proverb. I will explain my riddle on the harp.


I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings of old,


These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judgment is not good.


The words of the wise are like goads; and like nails well fastened are words from the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.


“In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce face, and understanding riddles, will stand up.


With him, I will speak mouth to mouth, clearly, not in riddles; and he will see the form of YHWH. Why then were y’all not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”


He said to them, “The mystery of the Empire of God is given to y’all. But to those who are outside, everything comes in parables,


He didn’t speak to them without a parable; but privately he explained everything to his own disciples.


But solid food is for the mature, who by practicing habits of the mind are able to discern between excellence and worthlessness.


speaking this way and of these things in all his letters. Some things in them are difficult to understand, which the ignorant and unstable distort, as they do to the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
