Proverbs 1:1

Solomon sat on David his father’s throne; and his kingdom was firmly established.


YHWH gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.


Look! A son will be born to you, who will be a man of peace. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. For his name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.


Of all my sons (for YHWH has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of YHWH’s kingdom over Israel.


Then Solomon sat on the throne of YHWH as king instead of David his father. He prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.


He died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.


The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.


To teach you truth, reliable words, to give sound answers to the ones who sent you?
