but you will go to your fathers in peace. You will be buried at a good old age.


These are the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred thirty-seven years. He gave up his spirit and died, and was gathered to his people.


Abraham gave up his spirit, and died at a good old age, an old man, and full of years, and was gathered to his people.


Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. They came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.


Therefore the Lord, YHWH Almighty, the Mighty One of Israel, says: “Ah, I will console myself from my adversaries by avenging myself on my enemies.


YHWH is a jealous and avenging God. YHWH avenges and is full of wrath. YHWH takes vengeance on ʜɪꜱ adversaries, and ʜᴇ maintains wrath against ʜɪꜱ enemies.


“Aaron will be gathered to his people, for he will not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because y’all rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.


Remove Aaron’s garments and put them on Eleazar his son. Aaron will be gathered, and will die there.”

because these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.


When David had served the purpose of God in his own generation, he fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and experienced decay.


Don’t seek revenge, beloved, but y’all must leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay,” says the Lord.


because they function as God’s deacon for you to do good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid, for it doesn’t bear the sword in vain. It is a deacon of God, an avenger for wrath to the one who does evil.


Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides, for the day of their calamity is at hand. Their doom rushes at them.”


Instead I must die in this land. I must not go over the Jordan, but y’all will go over and take possession of that good land.


This means that no one should violate and take advantage of a sibling, because the Lord is an avenger in all such things, as we told y’all earlier and solemnly warned y’all.


For we know ʜɪᴍ who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay.” And again, “The Lord [YHWH] will judge his people.”


“Rejoice over her, O heaven, saints, apostles, and prophets, for God has pronounced judgment on her for y’all.”


because ʜɪꜱ judgments are true and righteous. For ʜᴇ has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and ʜᴇ has avenged the blood of his slaves at her hand.”


They cried with a great voice, saying, “How long, Master, holy and true, will you not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”


When the people saw him, they praised their god, saying, “Our god has delivered our enemy and the destroyer of our country, who has slain many of us, into our hand.”


After all that generation were gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who didn’t know YHWH, nor the work which he had done for Israel.
