They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father; and they performed all that the king commanded. After that, God answered prayer for the land.


Judah did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done.


Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn’t destroy them.


Then Phinehas stood up and executed judgment, so the plague was stopped.


That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come.


For they provoked ʜɪᴍ to anger with their high places, and moved ʜɪᴍ to jealousy with their engraved images.


you must not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, YHWH your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,


“If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten by letting his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he must make restitution from the best of his own field and from the best of his own vineyard.


For you must not worship any other god, because YHWH, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.


I will judge you as women who break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.


YHWH is a jealous and avenging God. YHWH avenges and is full of wrath. YHWH takes vengeance on ʜɪꜱ adversaries, and ʜᴇ maintains wrath against ʜɪꜱ enemies.


Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of YHWH’s wrath, but the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy; for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those who dwell in the land.


“Therefore y’all are to wait for me”, says YHWH, “until the day that I rise up for the plunder, for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms to pour my indignation on them, all my burning anger, for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.


Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on them.”


Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?


For I am jealous for y’all with a godly jealousy, because I promised y’all in marriage to one husband—Christ—that I might present y’all as a pure virgin to him.


YHWH will not pardon him, but then YHWH’s anger and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book will fall on him, and YHWH will blot out his name from under the sky.


They moved him to jealousy with strange gods. They provoked him to anger with abominations.


They have moved me to jealousy with what is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.


For YHWH your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.


The children of Israel sent to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest.


Joshua said to the people, “Y’all are not able to worship YHWH, because ʜᴇ is a holy God. Hᴇ is a jealous God. Hᴇ will not forgive y’all’s disobedience or y’all’s sins.
