because they didn’t meet the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them; however, our God turned the curse into a blessing.


Men will clap their hands at him, and will hiss him out of his place.


“You therefore, son of humanity, prophesy, and strike your hands together. Let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the fatally wounded. It is the sword of the great one who is fatally wounded, which enters into their rooms.


I will also strike my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest. I, YHWH, have spoken it.”


“‘“Now look, I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been shed within you.


‘Look, the people that has come out of Egypt covers the surface of the earth. Now, come curse them for me. Perhaps I will be able to fight against them and drive them out.’”


for I will honor-honor you and do whatever you say to me. So please come and curse this people for me.’”


Please come now therefore, and curse this people for me, because they are too powerful for me. Perhaps I may be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that the one who you bless is blessed, and the one who you curse is cursed.”


Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and look, you have blessed-blessed them.”


So now, run away to your place! I said that I would honor-honor you, but YHWH has denied you honor.”


He crouches, he lies down like a lion or lioness, who would rouse them? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”


This happened three times, and then everything was drawn up into heaven again.


You must not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days forever.
