David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Look, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Y’all leave him alone and let him curse, because YHWH has invited him.


Yes, my own close friend, who I trusted, who ate bread with me, has raise his heel against me.


There is a generation that curses their father, and doesn’t bless their mother.


“The eye that mocks a father, and despises obedience to a mother, the ravens of the valley will pick it out, the young eagles will eat it.


The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will proudly defy the old, and the nobody against the honorable.


Through YHWH Almighty’ wrath, the land is burned up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother.


For even your siblings, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you! Even they have cried aloud after you! Don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.


For I have heard the defaming of many: “Terror on every side! Y’all denounce him, and we will denounce him!” say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. “Perhaps he will be deceived, and we will deceived him, and we will take our revenge on him.”


“Y’all must be on guard against your* neighbor, and y’all cannot trust in any relatives; for every relative will cheat-cheat, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.


In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.


All the men of your alliance have brought you on your way, even to the border. The men who were at peace with you have deceived you, and prevailed against you. Friends who eat your bread lay a snare under you. There is no understanding in him.”


“Brother will betray brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.


He answered, “The one who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.


They will be divided, father against son, and son against father, mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”


Y’all will be betrayed even by parents, siblings, relatives, and friends, and they will have some of y’all put to death.


I am not speaking about all y’all. I know the ones I have chosen. But this is so that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’
