You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until today.


When the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus saw the earthquake and the things that were done, they were terrified and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”


Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.


He entered a boat, crossed over, and came into his own city.


When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”


When he returned to Capernaum after several days, people heard that he was home.


As they were stretching him out to lash him, Paul asked the centurion standing there, “Is it lawful for y’all to flog a man who is a Roman without a trial?”


Paul summoned one of the centurions and said, “Bring this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.”


He summoned two of the centurions and said, “Y’all prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred men armed with spears, to go as far as Caesarea tonight.


When a gentle south wind began to blow, they thought they had accomplished their purpose, so lifted the anchor and sailed along the shore of Crete.


Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay in the ship, y’all can’t be saved.”


But the centurion wanted to save Paul, so he stopped them from carrying out their plan. He ordered that those who were able to swim should jump overboard first and go toward the land.


Lydda was near Joppa, so when the disciples heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to urge him, “Don’t delay in coming to us.”
