When Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her, he took her, lay with her by force.


At evening, David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. From the roof, he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to look at.


“I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I gaze at a young woman?


“If my heart has been enticed to a woman, and I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door,


I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commands are boundless. MEM


“You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”


Don’t lust after her beauty in your heart, neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.


As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers to them into Chaldea.


“‘You must not give your seed through sexual intercourse to your neighbor’s wife, and defile yourself with her.


For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.


But I tell y’all that everyone who is enraged with their sibling will be subject to judgment. Whoever calls their sibling, ‘You good-for-nothing!’ will be in danger of the council. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.


But I tell y’all, don’t resist an evil person. But if someone slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other cheek to them as well.


For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold as a slave to sin.


If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they must both die, the man who lay with the woman and the woman. So you must purge the evil from Israel.


They have eyes full of adultery and never-ending sin, seducing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed—accursed children!


For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.
