Such large crowds gathered around him that he entered into a boat and sat in it while all the crowd stood on the shore.


Jesus left there and came near to the sea of Galilee. Then he went up on the mountain and sat down.


Large crowds from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan followed him.


He opened his mouth and began to teach them, saying,


He went up into the mountain and called those whom he wanted, and they went to him.


Then he came into a house, and a crowd gathered again, so that they could not so much as eat.


Again he began to teach by the seaside. A large crowd was gathered around him, so he entered a boat in the sea and sat down while the multitude was on the land by the sea.


During those days, Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night in prayer to God.


He came down with them and stood on a level place with a large crowd of his disciples and a great number of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon.


Then looking up at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are the poor, for y’all’s is the Empire of God.


About eight days after they discussed this, Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up onto the mountain to pray.


Then Jesus, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.
