You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until today.


When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t y’all’s teacher pay the tax?”


This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:


“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the ethnic groups,


He entered a boat, crossed over, and came into his own city.


They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath day came, Jesus entered the synagogue and began to teach.


When he returned to Capernaum after several days, people heard that he was home.


And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades!


Jesus said to them, “No doubt y’all will quote to me this proverb, ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ and say, ‘Do here in your hometown what we heard you did in Capernaum.’”


After this, he went down to Capernaum with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.


Therefore Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where he made the water into wine. There was a certain royal official whose son was sick at Capernaum.


They entered the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.


When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.


He said these things in the synagogue as he taught in Capernaum.
