How often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, as chaff that the storm carries away?


The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff driven away by the wind.


Let them be as chaff before the wind, The Angel of YHWH driving them on.


The strong will be like tinder, and his work like a spark. They will both burn together, and no one will quench them.”


The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters, but he will rebuke them, and they will flee far off, and will be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.


Wrath is not in me, but if I should find briers and thorns, I would do battle! I would march on them and I would burn them together.


Bread flour must be ground; so he will not always be threshing it. Although he drives the wheel of his threshing cart over it, his horses don’t grind it.


The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that till the ground will eat savory feed, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.


You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away, and the whirlwind will scatter them. You will rejoice in YHWH. You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.


Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root will decay, and their blossom go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of YHWH Almighty, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.


“They will go out, and look at the dead bodies of those who have transgressed against me, for their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all humankind.”


I have winnowed them with a fan in the gates of the land. I have bereaved them of children. I have destroyed my people. They didn’t return from their ways.


But if y’all don’t listen to me and make the Sabbath day holy, by not carrying a load and entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem. It will not be quenched.”’”


At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A hot wind blows from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse.


I will send to Babylon strangers, who will winnow her. They will empty her land; for in the day of trouble they will be against her all around.


Therefore Lord YHWH says: “Surely, my anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, on man, on animal, on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and will not be quenched.”


Therefore they will be like the morning mist, like the dew that passes away early, like the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the threshing floor, and like the smoke out of the chimney.


“For look, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all the nations as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet not the least kernel will fall on the earth.


“For indeed, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the proud and all who work wickedness will be stubble. The day that comes will burn them up,” says YHWH Almighty, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.


Y’all are to let both grow together until the harvest. At the harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First, y’all are to collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to burn them. Then y’all are to gather the wheat for my barn.”’”


The Son of Humanity will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his empire everything that causes stumbling and all who lawbreakers.


They will cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.


Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the empire of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.


John answered them all, “I baptize y’all with water, but one who is stronger than I will come, and I am not worthy to untie the strap of his sandals. He will baptize y’all with the Holy Spirit and fire.


His winnowing fork is in his hand to cleanse his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”


Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, ʜᴇ takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, ʜᴇ cleans, that it may bear more fruit.
