and came and lived in a city called Nazareth. This fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets that he will be called a Nazarene.


When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?”


But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ we fear the crowd, for all hold John as a prophet.”


They were seeking a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd, because they considered him to be a prophet.


But others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet or like one of the prophets.”


Besides, I must travel today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is not possible for a prophet to die outside of Jerusalem.’


“What things?” he asked them. They replied, “The things about Jesus the Nazarene. He was a prophet, powerful in deed and word before God and all the people.


Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has come to help his people!”


Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what kind of woman is touching him, that she is a sinner.”


They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”


So they asked him, “Then why do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”


The woman said to him, “Lord, I discern that you are a prophet.


Now when the humans saw the sign that Jesus performed, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”


When they heard these words, some of the people said, “Surely this man is the Prophet.”


Then they asked the blind man again, “What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes?” He said, “He is a prophet.”


This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘God will raise up a prophet like me for y’all from among your* people.’
