“Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the ground which YHWH your God gives you.


“The eye that mocks a father, and despises obedience to a mother, the ravens of the valley will pick it out, the young eagles will eat it.


“‘You must not take revenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you are to love your neighbor as yourself. I am YHWH.


“‘Each one of y’all is to respect their mother father, and y’all are to keep my Sabbaths. I am YHWH y’all’s God.


The young man said to him, “All these things I have observed. What do I still lack?”


The second is like it, ‘You are to love your neighbor as yourself.’


“Y’all have heard that it was said, ‘You are to love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’


He answered, “‘Love the Lord [YHWH] your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”


For the commandments, “You must not commit adultery,” “You must not murder,” “You must not steal,” “You must not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”


For the whole law is fulfilled in this one statement: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”


“You are to honor your father and your mother, as YHWH your God commanded you, that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land which YHWH your God gives you.


However, if y’all fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” y’all are doing right.
