“I have heard the grumblings of the children of Israel. You must tell them, ‘At twilight y’all will eat meat, and in the morning y’all will be filled with bread. Then y’all will know that I am YHWH y’all’s God.’”


Moses said, “Now YHWH will give y’all meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy y’all in the morning, because YHWH hears y’all’s grumbling which y’all grumble against ʜɪᴍ. And who are we? Y’all’s grumblings are not against us, but against YHWH.”


The righteous eat to the satisfaction of their soul, but the belly of the wicked goes hungry.


When I break y’all’s supply of bread, ten women will bake y’all’s bread in one oven, and they will deliver y’all’s bread by weight, and y’all will eat but not be satisfied.


Y’all have planted much, but bring in little. Y’all eat, but don’t have enough. Y’all drink, but aren’t not enough to be tipsy. Y’all clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. The one who earns wages puts them into a bag with holes.’


Those who ate were about five thousand men, in addition to women and children.


The disciples said to him, “Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a crowd?”


Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.


Hᴇ has filled the hungry with good things, and has sent the rich away empty.


They all ate and were satisfied. Then they gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.


Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for everyone to receive even a little.”
