Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.


He entered a boat, crossed over, and came into his own city.


Instead, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer openly enter into a city, but stayed outside in lonely places. Still people came to him from everywhere.


So many gathered together that there was no more room, not even by the door, and he spoke the word to them.


Then he came into a house, and a crowd gathered again, so that they could not so much as eat.


When he had entered the house away from the crowd, his disciples asked him about the parable.


Jesus arose and went away into the region of Tyre. He entered a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.


When he came into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”


Jesus said to them, “No doubt y’all will quote to me this proverb, ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ and say, ‘Do here in your hometown what we heard you did in Capernaum.’”


Just then, some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a cot, and they were trying to bring him in to lay before Jesus.


When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.


When this sound occurred, the crowd came together and was bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in their own language.
