My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my plague. My kinsmen stand far away.


You have put lover and friend far from me, and my friends into darkness.


“I have trodden the wine press alone. Of the peoples, no one was with me. Yes, I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath. Their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.


Jesus said to them, “Y’all will all fall away because of me, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’


Every day I was with y’all in the temple teaching, and y’all didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”


One young man followed him, wearing only a linen cloth around his body. When they tried to arrest him,


Look! A time is coming and has already come, when y’all will be scattered, each to their own place, and y’all will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.


Jesus answered, “I told y’all that I am he. If it is me y’all seek, let these men go their way.”


At my first defense, no one came to support me, but everyone deserted me. May it not be counted against them.
