A person’s pride brings them low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.


Jesus told them, “Y’all watch out and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”


Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples,


He warned them, saying, “Y’all watch out! Y’all beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.”


Woe to y’all Pharisees! For y’all love the best seats in the synagogues and the respectful greetings in the marketplaces.


Meanwhile, a crowd of many thousands had gathered together, so that they were trampling on one other. Jesus began to tell his disciples first, “Y’all beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.


Then when he noticed how the guests chose the places of honor, he told them a parable:


They devour widows’ houses and offer long prayers for show. These will receive greater condemnation.”


Be devoted to one another with mutual love and honor one another above yourselves,


You should watch out for him, because he vigorously opposed our words.


I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, doesn’t accept us.
