I hate them with perfect hatred. They have become my enemies.


He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.”


Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.


“Another said, ‘I just got married a woman, so I can’t come.’


Now large crowds were traveling with him. He turned and said to them,


Anyone who loves their life will lose it, and anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it to eternal life.


But I don’t consider my life worth even a single mention. Instead I aim to finish my race and the deacon-work which I received from the Lord Jesus—to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.


Even as it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”


If a man has two wives, the one beloved and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated, and if the firstborn son is hers who was hated,


He said of his father, and of his mother, ‘I have not seen him.’ He didn’t acknowledge his brothers, nor did he know his own children; for they have observed your word, and keep your covenant.


But more than that, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I suffered and lost everything. Indeed, I consider them excrement, that I may gain Christ


They conquered him through the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life even before death.
