Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, “What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!”


Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.


Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I will be upright. I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression.


Don’t allow your mouth to lead you into sin. Don’t protest before the messenger that this was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?


“‘If a man eats something holy unintentionally, then he must add the fifth part of its value to it, and must give the holy thing to the priest.


“‘If the whole congregation of Israel sins, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which YHWH has commanded not to be done, and are guilty;


“‘When a ruler sins, and unwittingly does any one of all the things which YHWH his God has commanded not to be done, and is guilty,


“‘If anyone of the common people sins unwittingly, in doing any of the things which YHWH has commanded not to be done, and is guilty,


then y’all must appoint some cities to be cities of refuge for y’all, so that the person who kills a person accidentally may flee there.


This is the case of a murderer who flees there and live: Whoever kills their neighbor unintentionally, and didn’t hate them beforehand—


even though I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. However, I was shown mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.


The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also subject with weakness.


But the high priest alone enters the second tabernacle once in the year, and not without blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins the people committed in ignorance.


Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My siblings, things should not be this way.


But Jonathan didn’t hear when his father commanded the people with the oath, so he reached out the end of the rod in his hand and dipped it in the honeycomb. Then he put his hand to his mouth, and his eyes brightened.
