14 When the king of Ai saw it, they hurried and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at the time appointed, before the Arabah; but he didn’t know that there was an ambush against him behind the city.

For no one knows their time. As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.


The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counselors of Pharaoh has become stupid. How can y’all say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?”


The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Memphis are deceived. They have caused Egypt to go astray, those who are the cornerstone of her tribes.


While the word was in the king’s mouth, a voice came from the sky, saying, “O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: ‘The kingdom has departed from you.


They didn’t understand until the flood came and took them all. It will be the same way at the coming of the Son of Humanity.


the master of that servant will come in a day when they doesn’t expect it and in an hour when they don’t know it,


These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah opposite Suf, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.


So they set the people, even all the army who was on the north of the city, and their ambush on the west of the city; and Joshua went that night into the middle of the valley.


Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.


All the people who were in the city were called together to pursue after them. They pursued Joshua, and were drawn away from the city.


I and all the people with me will approach the city. When they come out against us as before, we will flee away from them.


In greed, they will exploit y’all with deceptive words. Their judgement from of old is not idle, and their destruction is not sleeping.


The ambushers hurried, and rushed on Gibeah; then the ambushers spread out, and struck all the city with the edge of the sword.
