12 Then Joshua spoke to YHWH in the day when YHWH delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel. He said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still on Gibeon! You, moon, stop in the valley of Aijalon!”

Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.


Hezekiah answered, “It is a light thing for the shadow to go forward ten steps. No, but let the shadow return backward ten steps.”


Isaiah the prophet cried to YHWH; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz.


Isaiah said, “This will be the sign to you from YHWH, that YHWH will do the thing that he has spoken: should the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?”


and Beriah and Shema, who were heads of fathers’ households of the inhabitants of Aijalon, who put to flight the inhabitants of Gath;


Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, which are fortified cities in Judah and in Benjamin.


Hᴇ commands the sun and it doesn’t rise, and seals up the stars.


Y’all praise ʜɪᴍ, sun and moon! Y’all praise ʜɪᴍ, all the shining stars!


Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them ʜᴇ has set a tent for the sun,


The day is yours, the night is also yours. You have prepared the light and the sun.


For YHWH will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.

It will happen in that day,” says Lord YHWH, “that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.


But YHWH is in ʜɪꜱ holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before ʜɪᴍ!”


The sun and moon stood still in the sky at the light of your arrows as they went, at the shining of your glittering spear.


Be silent, all flesh, before YHWH; for ʜᴇ has roused himself from ʜɪꜱ holy habitation!”


and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the stars of the sky, which I have not commanded,


When you lift up your eyes to the sky and see the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the army of the sky, do not be drawn away and worship them and serve them. YHWH your God has allotted them to all the peoples under the whole sky.


The sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Isn’t this written in the book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and didn’t hurry to go down about a whole day.


Aijalon with its pasture lands, Gath Rimmon with its pasture lands: four cities.


Elon the Zebulunite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the land of Zebulun.


From the sky the stars fought. From their courses, they fought against Sisera.


So Samuel called on YHWH, and YHWH sent thunder and rain that day. Then all the people greatly feared YHWH and Samuel.


They struck the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon. The people were very faint;
