Jesus sent out these twelve and commanded them, saying, “Y’all are not to go among the ethnic groups or enter into any city of the Samaritans.


But a Samaritan on a journey came up to him and, when he saw the man, he felt gut-wrenching sympathy.


Just then, his disciples returned, and they marveled that he was speaking with a woman. But no one asked, “What are you looking for?” or, “Why are you speaking with her?”


Then the Jews answered him, “Aren’t we correct in saying that you are a Samaritan, and are possessed by a demon?”


But y’all will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you*. Y’all will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”


He said to them, “Y’all know that it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or visit one of another ethnicity, but God has shown me that I shouldn’t call any human profane or unclean.


Therefore, send someone to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. He is staying in the house of Simon the tanner, by the seaside.’
