While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent a message to him: “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.”


So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but that instead a disturbance was starting, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. Y’all take care of it.”


saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? You take care of that yourself.”


When the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus saw the earthquake and the things that were done, they were terrified and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”


Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”


Surely we are punished justly, getting what we deserve for our actions, but this man has done nothing wrong.”


When the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous man.”


Pilate then went back into the Praetorium, called Jesus, and asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”


Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, “I find no basis for a charge against him.


When the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Y’all take him and y’all crucify him. I find no basis for a charge against him.”


For ʜᴇ made him who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.


For such a high priest was fitting for us: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.


but with precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot.


He “committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.”


For Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring y’all to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit.


But y’all know that he was revealed to take away sins, and no sin is in him.
