I lift up my eyes to you, you who sit in the heavens.


I chattered like a swallow or a crane. I moaned like a dove. My eyes weaken looking upward. Lord, I am oppressed. Be my security.”


He came the third time and said to them, “Are y’all still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Humanity is betrayed into the hands of sinners.


But the tax collector stood far away and wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his chest, saying, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’


Every day I was with y’all in the temple, and y’all never laid a hand on me. But this is y’all’s hour, and this is the reign of darkness.”


But when Jesus heard it, he said, “This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it.”


So they took away the stone. Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.


Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Humanity to be glorified.


It was just before the feast of the Passover. Jesus, knowing that the time had come when he would depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.


Look! A time is coming and has already come, when y’all will be scattered, each to their own place, and y’all will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.


At this, they tried to take him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.


But he said this about the Spirit, whom those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.


Jesus spoke these words near the offering box as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.


The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom y’all handed over and disowned before Pilate, after he had decided to set him free.


Through him y’all are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that y’all’s faith and hope are in God.
