If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:


I will cry like a young swallow, I will meditate like a dove: my eyes are weakened looking upward. Lord, I suffer violence, answer thou for me.


And he cometh the third time, and saith to them: Sleep ye now, and take your rest. It is enough: the hour is come: behold the Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of sinners.


And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes towards heaven; but struck his breast, saying: O god, be merciful to me a sinner.


When I was daily with you in the temple, you did not stretch forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.


And Jesus hearing it, said to them: This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God: that the Son of God may be glorified by it.


They took therefore the stone away. And Jesus lifting up his eyes said: Father, I give thee thanks that thou hast heard me.


But Jesus answered them, saying: The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.


BEFORE the festival day of the pasch, Jesus knowing that his hour was come, that he should pass out of this world to the Father: having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end.


Behold, the hour cometh, and it is now come, that you shall be scattered every man to his own, and shall leave me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.


They sought therefore to apprehend him: and no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.


Now this he said of the Spirit which they should receive, who believed in him: for as yet the Spirit was not given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.


These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, teaching in the temple: and no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.


The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he judged he should be released.


Who through him are faithful in God, who raised him up from the dead, and hath given him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.
