Gehazi went ahead of them and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no voice and no hearing. So he returned to meet him, and told him, “The boy has not awakened.”


Didn’t you, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it to the offspring of Abraham your friend forever?


YHWH spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn’t depart from the Tent.

Then he fell to his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, don’t hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he fell asleep.


Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.


Y’all need to sober up and stop sinning, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to y’all’s shame.


Listen, I tell y’all a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,


Therefore he says, “Awake, you sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”


YHWH said to Moses, “Look, you are about sleep with your fathers. This people will rise up and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land where they go to be among them, and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them.


who died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with him.


So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.
