For from Jerusalem a remnant will go out, and from Mount Zion those who will escape. YHWH’s zeal will perform this.


Like a father has compassion on ʜɪꜱ children, so YHWH has compassion on those who fear ʜɪᴍ.


But YHWH’s lovingkindness is from everlasting to everlasting with those who fear ʜɪᴍ, ʜɪꜱ righteousness to children’s children,


For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go out, and survivors will escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of YHWH Almighty will perform this.’


YHWH will go out like a hero. Hᴇ will stir up zeal like warrior. Hᴇ will raise a war cry. Yes, ʜᴇ will shout aloud. Hᴇ will triumph over ʜɪꜱ enemies.


“Foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.


Look down from heaven, and see from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory. Where are your zeal and your mighty acts? The yearning of your heart and your compassion is restrained toward me.


In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.


Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I still remember-remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him. I will have compassion-compassion on him,” says YHWH.


It is because of YHWH’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don’t fail.


So the angel who talked with me said to me, “You must proclaim, saying, ‘YHWH Almighty says: “I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.


YHWH Almighty says: “I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.”


“So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and felt gut-wrenching sympathy, and ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him.


They moved him to jealousy with strange gods. They provoked him to anger with abominations.


For YHWH will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, that there is no one remaining, shut up or left at large.


Y’all rejoice, O nations, with ʜɪꜱ people, for ʜᴇ will avenge the blood of ʜɪꜱ servants. Hᴇ will take vengeance on his adversaries, and will make atonement for ʜɪꜱ land and ʜɪꜱ people.


We call them blessed who endured. Y’all have heard of the perseverance of Job, and y’all have seen what the Lord brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.


They put away the foreign gods from among them and served YHWH; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
