No one is greater in this house than I am, and he has not kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”


“If my heart has been enticed to a woman, and I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door,


“You must not commit adultery.


“You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”


So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife. Whoever touches her will not be unpunished.


I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, Jerusalem! You will not be made clean. How long will it yet be?”


“For the land is full of adulterers; because of the curse the land mourns. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right.


For they have done foolish things in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives, and have spoken words in my name falsely, which I did not command them. I am ʜᴇ who knows. I am witness to it,” says YHWH.


“Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses,


Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men, that I might leave my people and go from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.


One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife, and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. Another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.


“You must not covet your neighbor’s wife. Neither are you to desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male slave, or his female slave, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
