but they mocked the messengers of God, despised ʜɪꜱ words, and scoffed at ʜɪꜱ prophets, until YHWH’s wrath arose against ʜɪꜱ people, until there was no remedy.


He says in his heart, “I will not be shaken. For generations I will have no trouble.”


Fools say in their heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They have committed vile deeds. There is no one who does good.


lest I be full, deny you, and say, ‘Who is YHWH?’ or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.


Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren’t you he, YHWH our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.


They didn’t say, ‘Where is YHWH who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that no one passed through, and where no man lived?’


I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, who went to Babylon,’ says YHWH; ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”


Then I said, “Alas, Lord YHWH! Surely you have deceived-deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘Y’all will have peace,’ when the sword is at our throats.”


When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of YHWH their God, all these words that YHWH their God had sent him to them,


The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own authority; and my people love to have it so. What will y’all do at the end of it?


They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.


They have seen falsehood and lying divination, who say, ‘YHWH declares,’ but YHWH has not sent them. Yet they hope for the fulfillment of their words.


If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies, saying, “I will prophesy to you of wine and beer,” he would be the prophet of this people.


Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money; yet they lean on YHWH, and say, “Isn’t YHWH among us? No disaster will come on us.”


When such a person hears the words of this curse, he bless himself in his heart, saying, “I will have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.” This will destroy the moist and the dry land.


Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in themselves. Anyone who doesn’t believe God has made ʜɪᴍ a liar, because they have not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning ʜɪꜱ Son.


Y’all keep watching it. If it goes up by the way of its own border to Beth Shemesh, then ʜᴇ has done us this great evil. But if not, then we will know that it is not his hand that struck us—it was just a chance that happened to us.”
