When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord, one of them said to him, “Is everything all right? Why did this madman come to you?” Then he said to them, “Y’all know the man and how he talks.”


What will y’all do on the day of visitation, and in the desolation that comes from afar? To whom will y’all flee for help? Where will y’all leave y’all’s wealth?


YHWH, your hand is lifted up, yet they don’t see; but they will see your zeal for the people and be disappointed. Yes, fire will consume your adversaries.


For YHWH has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.


who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;


They are worthless, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish.


There will be no remnant to them, for I will bring evil on the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.’”


First I will repay their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their disgusting idols.”


“I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.


For many nations and great kings will make bondservants of them, even of them. I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.”

Lord YHWH says, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!


I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am YHWH, when I lay my vengeance on them.”’”


I will magnify myself and sanctify myself, and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am YHWH.”’


As for me also, my eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.”


Israel, return to YHWH your God; for you have fallen because of your sin.


Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel, I have made known that which will surely be.


As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but YHWH doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.
