then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will give-give a tenth to you.”


Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint overseers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt’s produce in the seven plenteous years.


Only he didn’t buy the land of the priests, for the priests had a portion from Pharaoh, and ate their portion which Pharaoh gave them. That is why they didn’t sell their land.


They said, “You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”


Also we inform y’all that it will not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll on any of the priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers, temple servants, or laborers of this house of God.


Therefore I will bring the worst of the nations, and they will possess their houses. I will also make the pride of the strong to cease. Their holy places will be profaned.


“‘All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is YHWH’s. It is holy to YHWH.


“Look, I have given the children of Levi all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the Tent of Meeting.


You must take-take a tend of all your produce from your seed that comes from the field year by year.


When you have finished tithing all the tithe of your increase in the third year, which is the year of tithing, then you are to give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be filled.
