Laban said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that YHWH has blessed me for your sake.”


Joseph said to them, “What deed is this that y’all have done? Don’t you know that such a man as I can divinize-divinize?”


When he overtook them, he spoke these words to them.


Now the men took this as a good sign and were quick to take his word. They said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Y’all go and bring him.” So Ben Hadad came out to him, and he took him up into the chariot.


He made his son to pass through the fire, practiced sorcery, used enchantments, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits and with wizards. He did much evil in YHWH’s sight, to provoke him to anger.


“‘Y’all must not eat any meat with the blood still in it. Y’all must not use enchantments or practice sorcery.
