He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.


Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted up my hand to YHWH, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,


Now, therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you must do for me, and to the land in which you have lived as a foreigner.”


YHWH, the God of heaven—who took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my birth, who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, ‘I will give this land to your offspring,’ ʜᴇ will send ʜɪꜱ angel before you, and you are to take a wife for my son from there.


Rebekah said to Isaac, “I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good will my life do me?”

I contended with them, cursed them, struck certain of them, plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, “Y’all must not give your* daughters to their sons, and y’ll must not take their daughters for your* sons or for yourselves.


You are YHWH, even you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their army, the earth and all things that are on it, the seas and all that is in them, and you preserve them all. The army of heaven worships you.


May y’all be blessed by YHWH, who made heaven and earth.


Y’all give thanks to the God of heaven, for ʜɪꜱ lovingkindness endures forever.

“Y’all listen to this, house of Jacob, those who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out of the waters of Judah. Who swear by the name of YHWH, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness—


Whoever invokes a blessing on earth will be blessed by the God of truth; and whoever swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from my eyes.


“Y’all are to tell them this: ‘The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.’”


It will happen, if they will learn-learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As YHWH lives,’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.


Y’all are to take wives and bear sons and daughters. Then take wives for your* sons, and give your* daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters. Y’all must increase in number where y’all are, and not decrease.


and you will swear, ‘As YHWH lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness. The nations will bless themselves in him, and they will glory in him.”


“‘Y’all must not swear falsely in my name, and profane the name of your God. I am YHWH.

So now, will y’all please swear to me by YHWH, since I have dealt kindly with y’all, that y’all also will deal kindly with my father’s house. Y’all must give me a true sign
