After these things the word of YHWH came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”


The Angel of YHWH said to her, “Look, you are with child, and will bear a son. You are to name him Ishmael, because YHWH has heard your affliction.


The Angel of YHWH found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain on the way to Shur.


He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s servant, where did you come from? Where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.”


The Angel of YHWH said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands.”


The Angel of YHWH called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.”


YHWH, the God of heaven—who took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my birth, who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, ‘I will give this land to your offspring,’ ʜᴇ will send ʜɪꜱ angel before you, and you are to take a wife for my son from there.


YHWH appeared to him the same night, and said, “I am the God of Abraham your father. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. I will bless you, and multiply your offspring for my servant Abraham’s sake.”


He said, “I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.


But YHWH was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and favored them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them and he didn’t cast them from his presence as yet.


Jehoahaz begged YHWH, and YHWH listened to him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Syria oppressed them.


But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You have been a helper to the victim and the fatherless.


Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”


Y’all leave from me, all who practice evil, for YHWH has heard the sound of my weeping.


You who hear prayer, all flesh will come to you.


He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.


Moses said to the people, “Y’all must not fear. Stand firm and y’all will see the deliverance YHWH will accomplish for y’all today. The Egyptians y’all see today, y’all will never see again.


If you take advantage-advantage of them, and they cry-cry to me, I will hear-hear their cry,


for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.


The Angel of YHWH appeared to him in a flame of fire from the middle of a bush. He looked and noticed that though the bush burned with fire, the bush was not consumed.


YHWH said, “I have seen-seen the misery of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their slave drivers, for I know their sorrows.


The burden of the valley of vision. What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops?


Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.


Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have gut-wrenching sympathy for the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, or they might faint on the way.”


But Jesus, overhearing what was said, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Don’t be afraid. Just believe.”


Then we cried to YHWH, the God of our fathers. YHWH heard our voice and saw our misery, toil, and oppression.


As they called to the children of Dan, they turned their faces, and said to Micah, “What’s wrong that you come with such a company?”


Just then Saul came following the oxen out of the field, and Saul said, “What ails the people that they weep?” They told him the words of the men of Jabesh.
