They said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.


They made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father. He didn’t know when she lay down or when she arose.


He drank of the wine, became drunk, and uncovered himself inside his tent.


“Teacher, Moses wrote to us, ‘If a man’s brother dies and leaves behind a wife and no children, his brother should marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’


“But y’all be careful, or y’all’s hearts will be weighed down with intoxication, drunkenness, and the worries of this life, and that day will come down on y’all unexpectedly like a trap.
