Sarai said to Abram, “See now, YHWH has restrained me from bearing. Please go in to my servant. It may be that I will obtain children by her.” Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.


He went in to Hagar, and she conceived. When she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.


He looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and saw that the smoke of the land went up as the smoke of a furnace.


Adam had relations with his wife Eve. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, “Through YHWH, I have created a man.”


The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and had children with them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.


Seven women will take hold of one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothing. Just let us be called by your name. Take away our reproach.”

If brothers live together, and one of them dies without a son, the wife of the dead must not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband’s brother is to go in to her and take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
