He was a mighty hunter before YHWH. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before YHWH”.


As they traveled east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they settled there.


Therefore its name was called Babel, because there YHWH confused the language of all the earth. From there, YHWH scattered them abroad on the surface of all the earth.


In the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar; Arioch, king of Ellasar; Chedorlaomer, king of Elam; and Tidal, king of Goiim,


Isn’t Calno like Carchemish? Isn’t Hamath like Arpad? Isn’t Samaria like Damascus?”


It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.


At that time, Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick and had recovered.

The Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God. He carried them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god, and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.


Y’all must go to Calneh and see. From there y’all go to Hamath the great. Then y’all go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms? Is their border greater than y’all’s border?


Be in pain, and labor to give birth, daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now you will go out of the city, and will dwell in the field, and will come even to Babylon. There you will be rescued. There YHWH will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.


They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its gates. He will deliver us from the Assyrian, when he invades our land, and when he marches within our border.


He said to me, “To build her a house in the land of Shinar. When it is prepared, she will be set there in her own place.”
