Jacob took to himself rods of fresh poplar, almond, and plane tree, peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.


Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”


YHWH will send out the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule among your enemies.


You are to take this staff in your hand, so you can perform the signs.”


Moses took his wife and his sons, put them on a donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt. Moses took God’s staff in his hand.


Go to Pharaoh in the morning. As he is coming out to the water, stand by the river’s bank to meet him. You are to take the rod which was turned to a serpent in your hand.


“When Pharaoh speaks to y’all, saying, ‘Y’all do a miracle!’ then you are to tell Aaron, ‘Take your rod, and throw it down before Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent.’”


but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.


All the tithe of the herds or the flocks, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth will be holy to YHWH.


Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your heritage, who dwell by themselves in a forest. Let them feed in the middle of fertile pasture land, in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
