How often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, as chaff that the storm carries away?


I am forgotten from their hearts like a dead man. I am like broken pottery.


The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.


There is no memory of the former; neither will there be any memory of the latter that are to come, among those that come after.


For there will be no lasting memory of the wise, the same as the fool, since in the days to come everything will be long forgotten. Indeed, the wise will die just like the fool!


Now a poor wise person was found in it, and by his wisdom he delivered the city. But no one remembered that same poor man.


For the living know that they will die, but the dead don’t know anything, neither do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten.


YHWH, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be disappointed. Those who depart from me will be written in the earth, because they have forsaken YHWH, the spring of living waters.


The poor man died, and he was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried.


They also put forward false witnesses who said, “This man never stops speaking against this holy place and the Law.


But my righteous one will live by faith. But in the one who shrinks back, my soul takes no pleasure.”
