3 Hᴇ humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna that you and your ancestors didn’t know, in order to teach you that humans do not live by bread alone, but humans are to live by every word that proceeds from YHWH’s mouth.

They asked, and ʜᴇ brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of the sky.


Trust in YHWH and do good. Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.


But he answered, “It is written, ‘A human must not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”


Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘A human must not live by bread alone.’”


They all ate the same spiritual food


I have led y’all forty years in the wilderness. Y’all’s clothes have not grown old on y’all, and your sandal has not grown old on your foot.


Y’all have not eaten bread, neither have y’all drunk wine or beer, so that y’all may know that I am YHWH y’all’s God.


For these are not idle words for y’all—it is y’all’s life. By this y’all will prolong y’all’s days in the land whne y’all cross over the Jordan to possess it.”


When I went up on the mountain to receive the stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant which YHWH made with y’all, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I did not eat bread or drink water.
