He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother got a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.


They arose out of Midian and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, and appointed him food, and gave him land.


God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and his praise filled the earth.


The children of Israel went forward on their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud stayed in the wilderness of Paran.


From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.


Afterward the people traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.


They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land.


Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of YHWH. All of them were men who were heads of the children of Israel.


For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.”


We will cross over armed before YHWH into the land of Canaan, but the possession of our inheritance will remain with us across the Jordan.”


They said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession. Don’t bring us over the Jordan.”


They traveled from Rimmon Perez, and encamped in Libnah.

The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.”


Y’all are to give three cities across the Jordan and three cities in the land of Canaan. They will be cities of refuge.


So we passed by our brothers, the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion Geber. We turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.


Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandments which I command y’all today.


These are the words of the covenant which YHWH commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.


Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.


He said, “YHWH came from Sinai, and rose from Seir to them. He shone from Mount Paran. He came from the ten thousands of holy ones. At ʜɪꜱ right hand was a fiery law for them.


beyond the Jordan, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel struck when they came out of Egypt.


Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, “Listen, Israel, to the statutes and the ordinances which I declare in y’all’s ears today. Y’all must learn them and attend to doing them.”


Now YHWH y’all’s God has given y’all’s brothers rest as ʜᴇ promised to them. So now return and go to y’all’s tents, to the land of y’all’s possession, which Moses the servant of YHWH gave y’all beyond the Jordan.


Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given inheritance in Bashan; but Joshua gave to the other half among their brothers beyond the Jordan westward. Moreover when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them,


the waters coming downstream stood and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan. The waters flowing toward the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho.


When all the kings who were beyond the Jordan, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and on all the shore of the great sea in front of Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it


and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth.


Now Samuel died, and all Israel gathered themselves together and mourned for him, and buried him at his house at Ramah. Then David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
