YHWH said, “I will destroy humanity whom I have created from the surface of the ground—humans, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky—for I am sorry that I have made them.”


God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As he was about to destroy, YHWH saw, and he relented of the disaster, and said to the destroying angel, “It is enough. Now withdraw your hand.” the Angel of YHWH was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.


Hᴇ remembered for them ʜɪꜱ covenant, and repented according to the multitude of ʜɪꜱ lovingkindnesses.


But ʜᴇ, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn’t destroy them. Yes, many times ʜᴇ turned ʜɪꜱ anger away, and didn’t stir up all ʜɪꜱ wrath.


Turn back, O YHWH! How long? Have compassion on your servants!


So YHWH turned away from the evil which ʜᴇ said ʜᴇ would do to ʜɪꜱ people.


Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Didn’t he fear YHWH, and entreat the favor of YHWH, and YHWH relented from the disaster that ʜᴇ had pronounced against them? But we are committing great disaster on own souls!”


‘If y’all will stay in this land, then I will build y’all up and not tear y’all down. I will plant y’all and not uproot y’all up. For I am filled with sorry over the disaster that I have brought on y’all.


“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is aroused.


Y’all must tear your* heart and not your* garments. Y’all must turn to YHWH, your God; for ʜᴇ is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and relents from sending calamity.


Who knows? Hᴇ may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to YHWH, y’all’s God.


Y’all are to hate evil and love good, and y’all must establish justice in the courts. It may be that YHWH, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”


YHWH relented concerning this. “This also will not happen,” says Lord YHWH.


When God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way, God relented from the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn’t do it.


For YHWH will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, that there is no one remaining, shut up or left at large.


Therefore, y’all acknowledge your sins to one another and y’all pray for one another, so that y’all may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much.
