Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like a deaf cobra that stops its ear,


Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor, will also cry out, but not be heard.


But they refused to listen, and turned their backs, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear.


“This man was seized by the Jews, and they were about to kill him when I arrived with the soldiers and rescued him, because I learned that he was a Roman citizen.


When they heard these things, their hearts were split open with rage, and they gnashed their teeth at him.


and said, “Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Humanity standing at the right hand of God!”


They dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. The witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
