For behold, they have seized my soul. The strong have rushed upon me.


Whoever blocks his ears to the outcry of the poor shall also cry out himself, and he will not be heeded.


But they were not willing to pay attention, and they turned aside their shoulder to depart, and they pressed upon their ears, so that they would not hear.


This man, having been apprehended by the Jews and being about to be put to death by them, I rescued, overwhelming them with soldiers, since I realized that he is a Roman.


Then, upon hearing these things, they were deeply wounded in their hearts, and they gnashed their teeth at him.


Then they, crying out with a loud voice, blocked their ears and, with one accord, rushed violently toward him.


And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out and said, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
