18 After staying many more days in Corinth, Paul said farewell to the siblings, and sailed for Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila. In Cenchreae, he shaved his head because he had taken a vow.

The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics. And he healed them.

In those days, Peter stood up among the siblings (a gathering of about one hundred twenty people), and said,

He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.


where he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul visited them,


He began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside, and they explained to him the way of God more accurately.


When Apollos wanted to cross over to Achaia, the siblings encouraged him, and they wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed by grace.


Therefore do what we tell you: We have four men who have taken a vow.


Take them and purify yourself with them, and pay for their expenses to get their heads shaved. Then everyone will know that there is nothing to the things they have been told about you, but that you yourself walk orderly in keeping the law.


After we sighted Cyprus on the left side of the ship, we sailed on to Syria and landed at Tyre, since the ship was to unload its cargo there.
