He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long must I stay with y’all? How long should I endure y’all? Y’all bring him to me.”


and said, “You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery, a child of the devil, an enemy of all that is right. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?


For a period of about forty years he endured their habits in the wilderness,


Paul answered, “I am a Jewish man from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city. Please allow me to speak to the people.”


If, however, I have done wrong and have committed anything deserving of death, I do not refuse to die. But if none of the things they accuse me of is true, no one should be able to give me over to them. I appeal to Caesar!”


Yet I have nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him before y’all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after examination has taken place I may have something to write.


For rulers cause no fear for good conduct, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of one in authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,


I’d like y’all to put up with a little foolishness from me. Yes, y’all are putting up with me.


For if someone comes and preaches another Jesus whom we didn’t preach, or if y’all receive a different spirit than the one y’all received, or a different “good news” than the one y’all accepted, y’all put up with it well enough!


The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also subject with weakness.
