The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If y’all want to ask, then y’all must inquire. Y’all must come back again.”


And y’all will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them and to the ethnic groups.


The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—one with authority? For he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”


A new commandment I give to y’all, that y’all love one another. Just as I have loved y’all, so y’all must love one another.


For you are bringing strange ideas to our ears, and we want to know what they mean.”


Paul stood in the middle of the Areopagus and said, “People of Athens, I discern that y’all are very religious in every way.


But some people joined him and believed, including Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.


The commanding officer took him by the hand, drew him aside, and asked him privately, “What do you have to report to me?”


After several days, Felix came with Drusilla his wife, who was Jewish, and sent for Paul and listened to him speak about faith in Christ Jesus.


Then Agrippa said to Festus, “I would like to hear the man myself.” “Tomorrow,” he replied, “you will hear him.”


Agrippa said to Paul, “You are permitted to speak for yourself.” Then Paul motioned with his hand and began his defense.
