22 After removing him, ʜᴇ raised up David to be their king. God testified about him, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all my will.’

The men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. They told David, “The men of Jabesh Gilead were those who buried Saul.”


but my lovingkindness will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.


Now therefore tell my servant David this: ‘YHWH Almighty says, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel.


He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with YHWH his God, as the heart of David his father.


because David did that which was right in YHWH’s eyes, and didn’t turn away from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.


So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against YHWH, because of the word of YHWH, which he didn’t keep, and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire,


and Boaz became the father of Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse;


“I have installed my King on Zion, my holy mountain.”


then my covenant could also be broken with David my servant, that he won’t have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, my ministers.


then I will also cast away the offspring of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his offspring to be rulers over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; for I will cause their captivity to be reversed and will have mercy on them.”


I will set up one shepherd over them, and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.


Afterward the children of Israel will return and seek YHWH their God, and David their king. They will come with trembling to YHWH and to his blessings in the last days.


When David had served the purpose of God in his own generation, he fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and experienced decay.


The heart-knower God validated them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just like ʜᴇ did to us.


who found favor in God’s sight and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.


But if y’all do evil-evil, y’all will be consumed, both you* and your* king.”


“It grieves me that I have set up Saul to be king, for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments.” Samuel was angry; and he cried to YHWH all night.


For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because you have rejected the word of YHWH, he has also rejected you from being king.”


Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you; for you have rejected the word of YHWH, and YHWH has rejected you from being king over Israel.”


Samuel said to him, “YHWH has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours who is better than you.


YHWH said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”


Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the middle of his brothers. Then the Spirit of YHWH came mightily on David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.


Samuel said, “Why then do you ask me, since YHWH has departed from you and has become your adversary?


So Saul died with his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men that same day together.
