Therefore, I am sending y’all prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them y’all will kill and crucify; and some of them y’all will flog in your* synagogues and persecute from city to city,


“For this reason, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of whom they will kill and persecute,


But there were some men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who went to Antioch and spoke to the Greeks also, proclaiming the good news about the Lord Jesus.


The news about them came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, so they sent Barnabas to go to Antioch.


Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.


From there they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had now completed.


Then it seemed good to the apostles, the elders, and the whole church to select men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, who were leading men among the siblings.


So they were sent off and came to Antioch. after gathering the group together, they delivered the letter.


Judas and Silas, who were also prophets, encouraged and strengthened the siblings with a lengthy message.


When he landed at Caesarea, he went up to Jerusalem and greeted the church, then went down to Antioch.


‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Y’all’s sons and y’all’s daughters will prophesy. Y’all’s young men will see visions. Y’all’s old men will dream dreams.


After we located the disciples, we stayed there seven days. Through the Spirit, they told Paul not to set foot in Jerusalem.


This man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.


This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a convert to Judaism from Antioch.


and to another workings of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.


God has placed in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of administration, and various kinds of tongues.


And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,


But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.


So Christ gave some to be apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers
