20 David came to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. Then he said, “YHWH has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

All the people were arguing throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, “The king delivered us out of the hand of our enemies, and he saved us out of the hand of the Philistines. But now he has fled from the land from Absalom.


So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.


God, you have rejected us. You have broken us down. You have been angry. Restore us, again.


For YHWH will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.


You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the land of wickedness. You stripped them head to foot. Selah.
